Baby #2 update
Front of the baby's face
Today we had our 12 week doctor appt and ultrasound. Everything went great, there is only ONE baby in there and its very healthy. He/she was doing the body wave and generally uncooperative for the tech so we knew he/she was a kid of ours:-) I actually lost a pound since 2 weeks ago so I'm happy! And I have high iron level (last time i was always low) so I know I'm eating way better this time! Of course I failed my diabetes test by a few points, just like last time, even though I have been testing it and its fine. I don't get how drinking pure sugar indicates anything - when do I do that i real life? whatever. so i have to go back for a 3 hr test next friday, I'm a little crabby about it. Too early to tell the sex, the heartbeat was 170 so now I'm starting to think its a boy- Jillians was always 140 ish. Who knows we will find out in september!!! Of course I've got plans if its a boy or girl all written down and ready to go!!!

Summertime fun
We spent basically all weekend in grammy's pool. If you get 2 weekend days in row with 80 degree weather, no rain or humidty- you have to be outside. Jillian is becoming quite the fish- she's graduated from jumping off the steps to the side of the pool. She also detests arm floaties- she likes to go under. No closing your eyes on this dare devil!!!!

Why pregnancy #2 stinks so far
My first pregnancy was pretty great I am beginning to realize. I would work, come home and nap/watch TV, have hubby go get me some culvers/or chinese (hence 60 lbs weight gain), end the nite with a sundae and be in bed by 730pm. Gradually, I did stay up longer, but everything else stayed the same. This time- my life is controlled by a barely 3 ft toddler who likes to play, play, play. Outside in the sun. With every toy in the house. In boo's water bowl. Plus, now I can not feed my growing child take out every nite, so I am forced to cook meals that include vegetables. If I get to bed by 9pm I am lucky. And ryan says to me yesterday, "you seem more tired and cranky than last time." ya think? here are my other gripes....
1. non-stop feeling like im gonna throw-up- it is all day sickness, forget morning
2. acne like I am 13 again
3. extreme crabiness- I know its irrational the way I'll feel but I can't help it- everything drives me crazy
4. headaches
5. missing sweets- even looking at donuts/cakes, ect (my favorite food group) makes me sick
6. tired, tired, tired
so, everyone keeps saying I will feel like a human again in the 2nd trimester. 2 weeks to go- february feels like a looooong way away.

Book Review: eebee's new books!
A book review by Jillian and Heidi
You don't have to know who eebee is, or already like him, to love these books. The four new books just out from eebee adventures are interactive learning tools, not just books. The books are made out of soft, tactile material to engage the child. The books don't just show a picture and a word to describe it, they allow a child to actually preform the movement. Motor skills are sharpened and imaginations soar.
From the moment I opened the packages my daughter was enthralled with these books. I did not show her what or how to use the interactive parts of each book, she completely figured it out herself. The following is a review of each of the four books we received.
Book title: Have A Ball!
Author: Every baby company, Inc
Book type: picture
This book revolves around a ball attached to a string, which is a genius idea since almost ever toddler loves to play with balls. A child doesn't just read about playing catch or basketball, they actually get to preform the activities with their friend eebee. My daughter loved playing catch with eebee, making baskets and sliding the in a wagon- just like hers! I loved that she is learning motor skills like up, down, over, out, etc..! This book, and the others come in handy during the times of day I am busy with something like preparing dinner. She still gets interactive play and learning time, while I can accomplish a task as well. We definitely had a ball with this book! Five stars!!!
Book title: Laundry Time
Author: Every baby company, Inc
Book type: picture
The second book we reviewed, Laundry Time, is a perfect match for all the little helpers out there. My daughter loves laundry- mainly putting the clothes in the washer/dryer and pressing the buttons. This book simulates the laundry experience and allows for hours of fun. Once again, instead of just pictures showing towels, in the book there are actual mini towels to put in the washer. My little helper loved hanging eebee's clothes on the line and putting them away! Her favorite part was putting eebee to bed, she loves to be a little mama. The book even has a real soft blanket to cover eebee, it truly allows your child's imagination to soar. The book also teaches a child the steps involved with a chore, yet its hardly a chore when your favorite baby- eebee is involved!!!
Book title: Peek-A-Boo
Author: Every baby company, Inc
Book type: picture
The third book we reviewed, Peek-A-Boo, is definitely the favorite, if it's possible to pick just one! Peek is a toddler standard, a favorite game to play at any time, any place with no props needed. Imagine combining a favorite game and your favorite baby??? Pure happiness!! From the first page of the book the fun starts. Curtains hide- guess who??? Eebee! My daughter played with the cover for 15 minutes before venturing any further. Eebee continues to play peek throughout the book, he hides behind a raincoat and a sunhat. Once again, not just pictures of these objects, actual mini touchable replicas. Every time eebee "hides" the look on my toddlers face is irreplaceable. Just complete excitement and anticipation. For her to actually be able to hide and find eebee is such a thrill, and building valuable skills which I find thrilling!
Book title: Hug And Splash 2-book set
Author: Every baby company, Inc
Book type: picture
The final books we reviewed were a 2 book set, first we read All About Me and You. I knew this book would be a winner the minute I saw the mirror in the back! My daughter, as well as most toddlers, love to look at themselves. The mirror folds out so while reading the whole book together she could look at herself and point to the body parts just like eebee was. Instead of all her other books that just show a babies foot, she sees eebees foot and than can look in the mirror and see her own. Teaching her valuable thinking skills and helping her to learn how to associate others with herself.
The second book of this set, Bath Time, was fun, fun because it is a book that is made for water! The book floated in her bath, leading to lots of giggles as she tried to teach eebee to swim! My toddler is really into splashing so she loved how the book becomes a squirt gun and splashed eebee right back! What's better than bath time? Bath time with eebee!!!!
_______________________________________________________________________
All the books we received are wonderful learning tools, and better yet- actually played with again and again by a pretty choosy toddler. I love she is learning, she just loves eebee and his innovative way of play.
Thank you to Rebeca for having the publisher send us these books free of charge!!! Thank you, thank you!!!!
Valentino/Valentina?
So, today I finally had my first doctor appt for baby #2. All is good- I'm measuring right on- 10 weeks and my due date is offiicially february 14th. So, everyone like the names we have chosen?? ha ha!!! seriously though, we have no names so feel free to offer up ideas! I get to have an ultrasound in 2 weeks- so we are very excited- last time we had to wait till 20 weeks to see a picture of Jillian- it will be a relief to see the baby is healthy- and there is just 1!!!!
The other day one of the publishers from eebee inc. contacted me about us receiving the new eebee books. Of course Ryan thought it was a scam, but I gave her our address and sure enough we got all 4! new eebee books- which Jillian is bonkers over. So, I will be writing a review in my next post.
This weekend is one of my bestest friends bachelorette party. I'm completely bummed we can't be there but I'm sending tons of fun vibes down to Ohio that she has a night to remember!!!!

Did you miss me?????
For Jillian news, I think jillian is starting to tell us she wants to be potty trained. I don't know if 21 months is too early, but she is pretty insistent. First, she started telling us when she was going to poop and then immediately after yelling poopie, poopie and running to her room to be changed. I have been fighting her to change her diaper for at least the last 6 months so this is a big change. She also is constantly taking off her diaper- and its dry. So, maybe that will be a july goal - hopefully she will be all potty trained by next february- cause diapers for 2 would be very $$$!!!
Also, the "terrible twos" are definitely starting early. She can be so nice one minute and the next she is hitting, screaming, on the floor dragging herself- crazy toddler tantrum in full effect. It can be from something as simple as not turning the page on her book fast enough!! Its so hard not to react to her but I know that's what she wants. So, the neighbors probably think we keep her caged up or something with all the screaming!!!!
Miss Jillian also had a wonderful 4 days with her Aunty Shannon and Kyle and the Celusta's. She got a bunch of toys as usual - which she loved- and had so much fun. She definitely likes to be the center of attention!!! Can't wait to see you all again in 8 weeks!!!!

What happens when you party like a rock star...
Miss Jillian has long since abondoned her 9am morning nap, but when you stay up till 9:30pm, you pay for it the next day. She tried to make it to the main event but just couldn't, Boo either.
Yesterday she was up at 630am-no nap and fell asleep at 930pm!!! I remember the days when she'd wake up at 8, take a 2hr morning nap and then a 2-3 hr afternoon nap and be asleep by 7-7:30pm. I do not know where she gets the non stop energy- I guess she is officially a toddler!!!

Yes I am a crazy planner
Today we got a new birthday express catalog in the mail. So, of course I started thinking about Jillians 2nd birthday!!!! I picked four themes and she liked them all the same when I showed them to her. So, pick which one you think she'd like most at the poll to the right! Thanks!
Scrapes, dirt and cuts
What a difference a year makes! Last summer Jillian just sat in the shade on a blanket and played with grass. This summer, which has hardly even started, she is a wild child. Her legs are so scraped up from running, mostly without looking where she is going. Today alone she slipped on the tile and cut her chin on the bamboo wastebasket (only corner in the house i think of course), managed to climb onto the computer desk via the chair and stand and dance all within 30 seconds of me turning my back, and finally got her finger stuck in the hole on the stair banister. Whew! No wonder I am freakin tired at the end of the day. I said to some lady at work I feel like I'm pregnant I am so tired, she's like nope - you just have a toddler.
Jillian is really talking now- mostly jibber jaber sentences with words thrown in. Example; Baby yabaya eh grunt boo boo(also pointing at me). Then she will scream and throw her head back when I don't know what she is trying to say. It's really funny. I'm sure our laughing just infuriates the princess more!
Finally, oh the dirt, the mess! At first I tried to clean her up constantly outside. It was a losing battle. When I saw her shovel the pine needles and "make it rain" over her head I knew it was gonna be a messy summer. Every time we go outside she comes in covered in mud and usually soaking wet. Her dora sprinkling can is pure evil. And Kaine's water bowl- refilled about 20 times a day- she is obsessed with dumping it. So, I will have to buy stock in lotions cause she's getting like 2 baths a day. I still can't believe how fast these 20 months have gone!

Zoopaloza
Here are some pics from the zoo yesterday. Jillian had a blast with her buddy ethan. She also insisted on walking most of the time- so mommy and daddy got lots of exercise chasing her all over! It seems like whatever way we were going- she wanted to go the opposite way. Her favorite animal was the bongo- an antelope looking creature. She also loved the giant 20 lbs bunnies!

A little sunlight peeking through....
So, today I was finally approved to go part time at work. I iniatially requested 2 months ago- and kept getting denied. This morning at work everything got to me and I had a little breakdown so I think my boss finally realized I need less stress. Or, my all male bosses just don't know what do with a crying girl and just said anything to quiet me! Either way i got my hours reduced to 2 1/2 days so between ryan and the grandma's miss Jillian can become a day care dropout. It has just been so hard for us this week. Everyone keeps saying she will get use to it and have fun, but with everything going on we are emotionally unable to handle her screaming and crying while she "adjusts". The place we took her was very nice and so were the teachers, but now is not the time for any more change. So, I feel like a million pounds have been lifted off me (and ryan too). I am also really excited to plan stuff and have mommy and me time!!! We also wanted to say thanks to everyone for all their prayers and keeping us in their thoughts.

The other pic shows her latest obession- throwing everything!!! Miss J is also putting words together- so far "more chips" & "more cheese" are what she's sayin'. Thats my baby- just like momma- loves her food!
