Well, the closest forest to our house!!!

We went costume shopping with aunty erin sat. It was so funny, erin calls herself aunty- emphazing the u. So, of course jillian says it that way too. So jillian is walking around the store saying awnty, awnty- sounding like a little foreign girl. People kept smiling at her like she was from another country. So funny. Can't believe how much costumes are- i'm totally gonna get my sewing machine out from the back corner of the basement and sew them next year. I'm a little rusty, but it must be like riding a bike- rite?!

Next weekend is halloween-o-rama for jillian. Friday nite the zoo, sat nite trick or treating at aunty e's, and sunday trick or treating here!!! I'm sure daddy will help her eat all that candy!!!

Jillian's Room

Yeh!!! We are done with both the girls rooms!!! I still need a few knick knacks for the babies room- i stole some of jillians stuff for her. Not that she will know i suppose! Now, all I have left to do is wash baby clothes and all the stuff like the swing, car seat, bouncer, ect.. Trying to get as much done as I can while I still feel good, I keep waiting for the swelling to start. Maybe watching my sugar is really working and I won't, or at least not until month 9!!!

Everyday's it's somethin new!

Lately I feel like Jillian is changing every day. Things she hates one day are her favorite the next. Today during her bath she started dumping her cup with water in it over head. She did this about 30 more times, all the while screaming with glee. Now, this child has hated getting her hair washed since she was born. There have been times after i've rinsed her head, shes taken the cup, filled it up and tossed it at me. Ya, she really hates water on her head. Apparently, not anymore, or at least today. Her hair has probably never been so clean! ha!

I've also decided to get a potty for her. she keeps sitting on the garbage can when i'm in there, so i'm thinking she needs a potty her size. Maybe then she will feel comfortable enough to actually "go". I'm still aiming for potty training to be accomplished in the next 4 months before baby!!

i can't belive i'm 6 months this week. 23 weeks!! 17 to go (or 13 1/2 if its like last time)!!! I want it to be over, then i panic when I think about 2 kids around here. Especially reading LeAnne's blog- hopefully i will drop my weight (from this one and Jillian!) as fast as her- its seems like with 2 you dont get a chance to ever rest!!!

Summers back?

Ha, ha, i'm sure its summers last breathe this weekend, but we sure enjoyed it! I have to say, it was the first time in 6 yrs I've ever taken out the garden and its 80 degrees out! Weird! Jillian was very busy this weekend. Friday she went to visit her new friend Connor, she was real good with him, but way more interested his 2 cats!! She loves meow meow's. Then we went to the orchard and pumpkin patch. Got 10 pumpkins- should be fun carving all those! ugh! Saturday we just did yard work, Miss J was a muddy mess- she loves turning the hose on when mom isn't looking!! We went to the park this weekend and she went up the stairs to the slide all by herself, such a big girl!!! I worked on the babies room alot too, wierd putting back up the crib and stuff, feels like we just did that and its already 2 years ago!! Then, today Jillian had her aunty and jimmy over, she was putting on a show all afternoon! She loves an audience!

We also are accomplishing another big milestone over here! For the past week so far Miss J has been in her big girl bed!! When she was a baby, little by little she ended up sleeping with us. Well, 2 years flies by and all the sudden baby #2 is coming so it won't work. She can't be up every couple hours with a newborn. The main problem with getting her in her own bed has been us. We love her with us, I love her touching my face in the middle of the night, and waking up to her sweet smile! After all we've been through in the last 2 years, I think we are doing pretty good overall, and thats all you can ask for. So, I'm a little sad, but I know she needs her own space. And boy, does she love her new room. She closes the door all the time on me, says bye bye momma! Hey! Momma's not ready to shunned yet!!!

We also got some other good news this last week, Aunty Shannon and Kyle are having a baby!!! Baby is due in June, so baby #2 and him/her will be real close in age!! We are so excited and happy for you guys!!! Now, we just need Aunty E to start popping out cousins!! Ha, ha.

So, I think we have a tentative name. Olivia. What do you all think? I really, really like it, Ryan likes it. I would call her Livie. Oh, I love it!

Peek a boo

Amazing and trying all at the same time

Apparently I thought I knew what the "terrible two's" was, but I guess its alot like labor, in the beginning you can't imagine it can get any worse, yet it does. From about 19 months on, Miss J has been having meltdowns, screaming, ect. But this last month, holy cow! she is like two toddlers, an angel one minute, devil child the next. If you don't get or do what she wants the minute the words leave her mouth, its screaming, no screeching on the floor time. Then, by the time you get what she wants, something like cheese, she refuses it and gets even more upset. We are trying to ignore her, and keep talking normal, but it is so hard not to scream back. When someone is screaming at you, it really takes all your patience and energy and sucks it out. Plus, being prego i'm already "touchy". Other times, she is just amazing. She is talking so much now, almost full sentences, repeating everything we say, just like a little sponge. Tonight she was sitting on the potty (still no peeing, just sitting) talking about kitties and pumpkins, and I just could not believe this was my little baby girl. I think its fall too, it just brings me back to when she was born, the weather, the food i'm making, it all just reminds me of that time. I think this next year will definately be challenging, but also just amazing watching her grow and learn so much.

Otherwise its full steam ahead on the girls rooms! Ryan loves when I'm in "lets get everything done right now mode". Jillians room is almost done, a couple pictures need to be hung up when they come from my new friend ebay. Today, ryan primed the babies room. A little sad, seems like me and aunty E just stenciled it all, can't believe that was 2 1/2 yrs ago! Can't wait for the pink though, its gonna be so cute!!!

October is flying by, I was just thinking we better go get pumpkins, only a couple weekends left to halloween already. She still needs a costume, this weekend we'll have to take a trip to halloween express, she will love that store with all the cats and flashy things. That's all thats new over here, hope everyone is doing good! Hope the new mommies are getting a little sleep!

Growth spurt

Today Jillian had her 2 yr checkup. She is 36 inches and 36 lbs!!!! I know she was a big baby (9lbs 8oz, 22 1/2 inches), but even the doc said she is really tall! Wish I weighed my height, well maybe a little more than 67 lbs!!! Otherwise she is a healthy little girl, got one shot and a blood taken for the dreaded lead/anemia test. She was pretty upset. Least no doctor visits until 3 yrs old and no more shots till she's 5! Whoo hoo. Not like I'm not gonna be starting all over in february with the new baby!!!

Today we got all the stuff moved from Jillians old room to the new room. All I can say is I'm never moving again, i'm so tired and sore from moving 1 room no way I could do a whole house. All we have left to do is hang up the border, get her mattress and hang some pictures. It looks so cute, and so big girlish, even her toys aren't babish anymore:-( So fast, so many changes in just 2 years.

What a cutie!! Here are some of her 2 year pictures. Other exciting news- probably only if u r a hormonal crazy pregnant lady- we got jillians room all painted tonight!! Tommorrow I can put up the wallpaper, get her a twin mattress, and a dresser from my mom, some finishing touches, and yeh!! her room will be done! Next, baby girl #2 room!!!

We conquered target photo!!!

Ya!!! Finally, going to get pictures wasn't a nightmare! We have had so many problems with jcpenney photo- they always have the wierdest photographers. Last time we went this 90lbs guy, in all black, super pale is our photographer. He grabs her foot right away, she cries, never stopped till we left. I would have cried if he'd grabbed my foot too!! Today, she was perfect, even the photo lady said she was so good for a 2 yr old. I don't know if its cause she feels comfortable at target- thanks to her 2 grandma's mostly, or if the photo lady was really good, or its her age, but I'm so happy!!

Today, I got Jillians new room all taped and ryan's gonna prime it(its dark blue rite now) and paint this week. Hopefully, the tinkerbell border won't be too hard to put up- never did wallpaper before. Ryan just groaned when I said I bought it. I can't wait to have the two rooms done- its all i can think about- im wierd i know.

Today we had our ultrasound- and suprise- its a little girl!!! Most important is that she is healthy, and growing perfect!! I am only 2 days ahead so far- so following diabetic diet is good so far. She weighs 12 ozs!!! I don't think she looks at all like Jillian- look at those angelina lips!! I was so sure it was a boy, daddy thought girl, but the minute we found out i started crying, just relieved we know and she's healthy!!! So, now i'm in room redo mode! I've decided my little girl #2 should not get a hand me down room!!! So, I've talked ryan into redoing both rooms:-) I've always regreted a little not going full out pink, so baby girl will have a pink and light green room- theme to be determined. Miss Jillian will move to the big room and have tinkerbell theme. I already have a comforter set, today I went on ebay and got her 2 valances, wall paper border and at jcpenney purple blinds!!!! Her walls will be purple and she needs a rug!!! I'm so excited, 2 little girls, my girls!!! To much emotional excitement - my baby #1 birthday and my baby #2 ultrasound- for a pregnant hormone mommy!!!!!

I can't believe it, for 730 days you have been here, sometimes it seems like you were just in my belly, other times I can't imagine my life before you. You have completely changed my life, I want the world to be better for you, I would give up anything and everything for you. You are strong-willed, smart and decisive- all traits which give me a run for my money, but someday, when you are all grown will be your biggest assets, and help you achieve all your dreams. I hope you chase all your dreams and become the worlds best brain surgeon or the best stay at home mom, but knowing you it will be both! Jillian had so much fun at her birthday party yesterday. I think it was her favorite yet!!! Daddy suprised her with a giant castle bouncer- which she, and all the other kids loved. She got a whole new wardrobe, a baby, dora backpack, mr potato head, an easel, and so much more. She is very spoiled!!! She crashed at 730pm last nite and is sleeping now, I think making up for yesterday's business!!! Tommorrow is her 2nd birthday and we find out the gender of the baby!!! whoo hoo.

Good weekend to be sick

Well, its been raining and humid outside for 2 full days now, so I'm not too upset we are a little under the weather here. Jillian's nose started running friday and kept going till this morning. She is still running around and crazy, just a lot more crabbier than usual! fun! today she took a long nap, me too, during the packer game and is looking better. I of course got her cold, but its just like really bad allergies so not too bad. I'm glad i cancelled her 2 yr pictures friday, she had a scratch on her face, but with the cold starting she would have been a cranky girl.

I can't beileve her birthday party is in a few days!!! I feel like she just turned one!!! Hopefully, all the rain is gone and next saturday will be perfect out! That's all thats new here, i'm making chicken dumpling soup for dinner and hope it kicks the cold rite out of us!

Bath time zen

Nigh Nigh

Apparently baths have become boring for Miss Jillian. For the last couple nights when I give her a bath she lays flat down in the tub, covers up with her 3 washclothes (yes, she needs all three ALWAYS!), and says "nigh, nigh Mommy." She will turn her head a little to uncover a ear if I am talking otherwise she is very zen, laying still and eyes half open. It's not like she's tired cause 2 mins later she will be splashing and screaming. It's pretty cute, i will try to remember a camera at bath time to get a pic.

Otherwise all that is new with Miss J is her dislike of clothes and diapers and her insisting we "wread" every book in the house 5 times in a row. She was doing good saturday diaperless for about an hour than had an accident and got very upset. I was suprised she even knew she had an "accident" so I guess potty training is coming along slowly. She also wants to read, all the time, which is great except she likes to read a book over and over again. I feel like a tape recorder!

On saturday we got the whole closet cleaned out in the baby's room! I have 4 garbage bags of clothes from mine and ryans closet, and I could have thrown out alot more but I hesitate cause after the next baby I will lose so much weight and wear some clothes again u know :-) So, I'm very happy, all we need to do is paint in there now. I don't know why I feel so time pressed this time, I think its all the holidays coming up. With Jillian I had the whole summer to get stuff done and this time I feel like fall goes so fast and all the sudden its xmas and than baby!!! Plus this time its hard to get stuff done with a toddler, its not like I can spend a whole day on anything baby related, Jillian wants to play and go places, and it wouldnt be fair to her anyways. So 2 weeks to go and than we will know the sex and I will hopefully start feeling less stressed!!

Passed Out

Miss Jillian has been b-u-s-y lately. She's graduated from her high chair to her booster seat, and is eating like quite a little lady. No food throwing, using napkins and her utensils! Almost too good to be true! We also started potty training this last weekend. So far she wants to sit on the big potty with her seat on it about 5 times a day- but no actual "potty" yet. We also started organizing the baby's room sunday. We went through all the toys, clothes, ect.... There is still a ton to do- ie mostly the closet full of daddy's crapola which will be the baby's closet. We are going to have to share a closet for the 1st time in 3 years - should be super fun!!! I can't wait to find out- so we can paint and stuff!!! So, I'm finally starting to show- everyone at work that didnt know i was pregnant is saying stuff to me now. I'm eating super good and checking my sugar so I don't know if thats why i'm not getting bigger faster like everyone says is suppose to happen with the 2nd one. I looked at some pics from last time and I was way bigger! Guess not craving ice cream sundaes this time is a good thing!!! I'm sure I will pop like next week or something and regret ever saying I'm not showing much yet! So, thats all thats new here, besides birthday party planning. I'm really glad ours kids birthday's will be like 5 months apart- these birthda y parties are alot of work and I need a break between!

We also want to send our thoughts, prayers and love to Jillian's bff (best friend forever) ethan and his family. They lost a wonderful member of their family today. She was a beautiful person on the inside and out. There are no words worthy of saying when you lose someone you love, all you can do is hold onto are the memories and the knowlege that they are in a better place than we are, and at peace.

16 weeks!!

Today I had my 16 week appointment, I really can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going. For all the complaining I have been doing, and all the crappy symptoms I have been having, I am suprised. I made my 20 week ultrasound appt and the nurse said, you will be 1/2 way done, crazy!! Can you believe the only appt they had the whole week was 830am 9/22- Jillian is ok with it though- she said we can go to stonefire for lunch and go to the dells in october for her birthday. Whew!!!

So, good news is I still haven't gained any weight and my blood sugar is like 80's so very good. I'm measuring right at 16 weeks, but I will still have my bags packed starting jan 15th- no matter what they say!!! The hearbeat was like 155, so definately different than Jillians was- alot faster. I was hoping for an ultrasound today, but of course as soon as she put the handheld ultrasound thing on my stomach baby weed jumped over there and thump thump was all we heard. Nurse said oh good looks like you wont need an ultrasound (my placenta is in front so could be hard to hear)- maybe good for you- not for freakazoid me!!!

So, 24 days from now we will know if its a boy or girl!!!! Everyone at work is betting on a boy and they all said girl last time and were right. I thought I was having a boy last time and this time I feel like its a girl- so who knows. Either way it will be unreal to have 2 kids in a few months!!!

Shannon & Kyle 8/23/08

We were down in Ohio this last 4 days for Shannon and Kyle's wedding. They had a perfect day, a little warm but no humidty so it was good. We all had alot of fun, especially Miss Jillian. She was a dancing princess!! She had a big job- walking down the aisle- not easy for a almost 2 year old. She did pretty good at rehersal, then the day of the wedding she was very excited to start walking till the couple in front of us walked and she saw the crowd of people. A little crying but she pulled it together and walked down with mom and dad. She also did not want to sit by grammy, she decided to have daddy hold her the whole ceremony. Least she was quiet! The ceremony was beautiful, Aunty Shannon was a stunning bride. Jillian thinks she looked like a movie star. Kyle was handsome too of course! Her favorite part was all the butterflies that everyone released when shannon and kyle walked out. Then, mommy and daddy got some alone time on the trolley ride- it was alot of fun. We headed to the reception and the party really started! We had a great dinner and some dancin'. Miss Jillian also found a fish pond in the atrium- so she was pretty obsessed with the fishes- she alternated between dancing and fish gazing. Little flower girl made it to about 9pm- than passed out till 830am next day. We had a great time down in ohio- a little stressful with a unpredictable 2 year old- I just worried about her screaming or throwing a fit during the vows- stuff that didnt happen thank goodness! We have never been to wedding with a kid before- usually we just sit back and enjoy - alot different with a baby- girl! Never packed a diaper bag and my "evening" purse for the same occasion! Running upstairs after dinner to change a mud butt, in my bridesmaid dress and heels, it really occurred to me- Yes, you are a mom! So, we hope the Ruhe's have a fabulous honeymoon and a lifetime of happiness!!! We Love you both- thanks for letting us a be a part of your day!!!

Ashland

So we were up in ashland the past 4 days. I had been dreading the trip but we actually ended up having a really good time. The weather was perfect- in the 70's, the trailer has running water now, and Jillian was a good girl. She got sick 2 times on the way up- exorcist style- so we figured she gets car sick so on the way home we eliminated the nuggets and fries and she was just fine. We went atving (well mostly ryan), swimming and had campfires. Jillian loves spending time with her buddy ethan. Other than that I am officially out of my 1st trimester- so one down 2 to go!!! So, 3 days of work this week and off to Ohio!!!!

State Fair O'rama

We were at state fair saturday for almost 6 hours! Jillian loved the animals- especially the bunnies of course! So, there was a very tired mama and baby here last night! Hard to believe next year we will be there with a almost 3 yr old and a 6 month old!! ahhhh!!!!

Terrible Two's

Well, I think we are begining to enter the toddler era feared by all- the terrible two's! Miss Jillian is definately "testing the waters" and "spreading her wings" lately. Tantrums are increasing, ususally due to the fact she is demanding things immediately and mommy and daddy are way to slow or say no. Today so far she has used a tide stick on the wood floor, thrown half her dinner to boo and stuffed a towel in the toliet. I love how when you catch her being naughty she actually looks at me annoyed for stopping her! She is still 80% of the time a really good little girl, she loves doing chores and helping me out. No worries about bending over this time prego-i got my little troll sidekick!!

We have set her birthday party for saturday september 20th at 3pm. I will be sending out invites but probably not till the end of the month- next weekend ashland then OHIO for shannon and kyles wedding!!! yeh!!!

Baby #2 update

Today we had our 12 week doctor appt and ultrasound. Everything went great, there is only ONE baby in there and its very healthy. He/she was doing the body wave and generally uncooperative for the tech so we knew he/she was a kid of ours:-) I actually lost a pound since 2 weeks ago so I'm happy! And I have high iron level (last time i was always low) so I know I'm eating way better this time! Of course I failed my diabetes test by a few points, just like last time, even though I have been testing it and its fine. I don't get how drinking pure sugar indicates anything - when do I do that i real life? whatever. so i have to go back for a 3 hr test next friday, I'm a little crabby about it. Too early to tell the sex, the heartbeat was 170 so now I'm starting to think its a boy- Jillians was always 140 ish. Who knows we will find out in september!!! Of course I've got plans if its a boy or girl all written down and ready to go!!!
